Here comes Desemboca 2021! The free festival for vintage sounds lovers on the Costa Brava!
Desemboca is back in its eighth edition, putting on a free show of bands encompassing rock’n’roll, garage, punk, psychedelia and rhythm’n’blues with established names in each genre. Right in the heart of the Costa Brava, when the heat closes in and what we want to do most is to dance in good company and with songs that remind us that music is a vehicle like no other. Organized by the Associació Arocinema in collaboration with Platja d’Aro Town Council, this year it is adapting its formula to the pandemic and changing its location, also concentrating the events on a single day. This year, Desemboca will be experienced sitting down, but it will have the same energy that has characterized its previous incarnations.
With limited capacity and with free prior reservation essential, this year offers a menu that is 100% national, where you can see the Corcs Drum & Organ from Barcelona showing that, with just two musicians, you can sound like a soul, funk or R&B band; they will be followed by Ian Kay, the French androgynous jet-setter, of Armenian descent and based in Barcelona, who has just completed his first solo album. Fetus provide the contribution from Empordà, a band from La Bisbal who have just released their third album with a much talked about tribute to Jaume Arnella in a punk-garage style. The climax comes from one of the bands that has created the biggest commotion on most stages in our land, Los Bengala arrive with their new trio format to prove why they are considered one of the best garage bands on the national scene.
